Gautam Buddha short biography
Gautam Buddha was a spiritual leader who founded Buddhism religion. Gautam Buddha was believed to live in eastern India/Nepal during the 6th to 4th century B.C. Gautam Buddha was born as a prince and spend his childhood in luxury. He lost his mother at a very early age and his doting father tried his best to keep his young son away from the miseries and problems of the world. When Gautam Buddha was a little boy, some wise scholars predicted that he would become either a king or a renowned spiritual leader.
Once Gautam Buddha was on a trip through the city where he witnessed an old man, a diseased person, and a corpse. The new knowledge about the sufferings in the world gave rise to several questions in his mind. finally, after years of meditation, he established, and became the Buddha meaning “awakened one” or the “ enlightened one”.
Several details regarding Gautam Buddha’s early life are shrouded in mystery. He is believed to have been born in Lumbini in the 6th-century B.C. Gautam buddha’s birth name was Siddhartha Gautama and he was born as a prince. His father suddhodana was a king. He was a leader of a large clan called the Shakya and his mother was a queen, Maya.
At the age of 29 sidhartha left his place and his family to lead an ascetic life. He thought that living a simple life of self-denial will provide him the answers he wants. For the next six years, he lived a life of extreme austerity, like eating very little food and fasting until he became cerywek.
He started following this and also started meditating under a fig tree which is now known as a bodhi tree and promised himself that he would not move until he had found enlightenment. He meditated for several more days and saw his entire life and previous lives in his bare thoughts. After the process of 49 days of meditation, he finally realized that that answers these questions. He found pure insight and in that moment of insight, Siddhartha Gautama became the Buddha.
Gautam Buddha is a major figure. The religion of Buddhism has its own foundation in its teachings. Buddha gave the four noble truths which express the basic orientation of Buddhism and gives a conceptual framework of the Buddhist thought.

Later on, Buddha reconciled with his father king suddhodana. His wife became a nun while his only son became a novice monk at the age of seven and spend the rest of his life with his father.
