Shri Shri Ravi Shankar was born in southern India. By the age of four, he was able to recite the Bhagavad Gita which is an ancient Sanskrit scripture and was often doing meditation. Shri Shri Ravi Shankar holds degrees in both, Vedic literature and physics.
Shri Shri is the founder of the Art of Living organization. In 1982, Shri Shri entered a ten-day period of silence in Shimoga in Karnataka and that is how the Sudarshan Kriya was born. Later on, with time Sudarshan kriya became the centerpiece of the art of living.
